About Us
‘the difference’ is a local charity that exists to enhance patient care in the Scottish Borders. We work in close partnership with healthcare professionals across the full spectrum of hospital and community activity, to identify projects that will help local doctors, nurses and other clinicians enhance the care which they provide.

why does the NHS need to be supported by fundraising?
Everything that we fund is an ‘enhancement’ to the services provided by the NHS, and would not be paid for out of the government purse. We ensure that all clinical areas have the opportunity to access our work, and try also to support projects that do not traditionally attract charitable funding.
Our works makes a huge difference to peoples lives.
